Ninety moves in Nine Seconds (Jackie)

Recorded on October 12, 2021, Prospect Art Founders Elizabeth Withstandley and Gioj De Marco speak with New York-based artist Jen Durbin about the genesis of her twenty years in the making installation "Ninety Moves in Nine Seconds (Jackie)." This series of sculptures and drawings refer to the action of Jackie Kennedy's pink pillbox hat the moment that her husband, John F. Kennedy, was shot. The conversation explores the travails of contemplating grief and reveals Jen's dedication to the conceptual and material narratives of both our personal and collective histories.
